About the Role

As a Senior Associate Geotechnical Engineer at WSP, you will play a key role in delivering innovative and effective technical solutions to both internal and external clients. With a strong track record in undertaking and project managing field investigations for small to medium-sized geotechnical projects, you will be responsible for designing, undertaking, and managing geotechnical investigation projects from proposal preparation to fieldwork, analysis, and reporting.

You will have the opportunity to work closely with our team of experts in the delivery of geotechnical services to manage our clients' ground risk and support infrastructure development. Your passion and technical expertise will be deployed across a number of diverse projects, exposing you to various industries such as transport, mining, renewable energy, property, and buildings, and also government sectors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Designing and undertaking geotechnical investigation projects, including proposal preparation, fieldwork, analysis, and reporting.
  • Managing geotechnical investigations, including desktop studies, fieldwork, and laboratory scheduling.
  • Interpreting and analyzing geotechnical data to deliver designs that contribute to geotechnical and multidisciplinary projects.
  • Supporting clients during the construction phase to ensure our designs are built according to design intent.
  • Working closely with geotechnical colleagues and other disciplines throughout project delivery.
Requirements

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Geotechnical Engineer with a strong background in geotechnical engineering and project management. The ideal candidate will have:

  • A civil engineering or geotechnical degree, or related degree.
  • Postgraduate qualifications in a geotechnical-related field will be considered favorably.
  • CPEng or an intention to be working towards chartered status.
  • A successful track record in undertaking and project managing field investigations for small to medium-sized geotechnical projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in geotechnical design, including soil-structure interaction, and software packages such as Plaxis, Rocscience Slide, Settle3, RSPile, or Wallap.
