The Role

Team Leader - GEDSI-focused Project

This role is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced project leader to take on a challenging and rewarding position. As Team Leader, you will be responsible for the overall performance, management, and execution of a high-profile project focused on Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI). The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker with excellent leadership and project management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning, oversight, and coordination of all project activities and personnel;
  • Ensure that project deliverables exceed expectations and are managed within budget and timeframe standards;
  • Manage client relations and serve as primary liaison with the client and stakeholders regarding priorities, resource mobilization, and allocation;
  • Ensure internal integration of project activities through annual work planning, effective project management teams, and monitoring and evaluation systems;
  • Responsible for personnel management and development, implementing practices to ensure high levels of staff morale and retention.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in GEDSI or related field;
  • Ten years of progressively responsible experience and expertise in large and complex projects relating to GEDSI issues or related fields;
  • Ten years of progressive senior management experience on programs of similar size and scope, preferably with international donor organizations;
  • Demonstrated experience managing diverse teams and engaging experts, organizations, and institutions from various backgrounds;
  • Five years' substantive experience working with DFAT stakeholders at country, regional, or headquarters level, strengthening engagement, capacity, and programming;
  • Knowledgeable and experienced with DFAT contracting policies and procedures;
  • Strong leadership skills, including building, mobilizing, and leading multidisciplinary teams;
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and with multiple concurrent demands;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • English language skills required; First Nations and/or visual languages encouraged.
