Mills Recruitment is partnering with a well-established drilling manufacturing company in Western Australia to find an experienced mechanical fitter.

With expertise in mining equipment, the successful candidate will strengthen the workshop team and play a key role in the company's growth.

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled workshop mechanical fitter to join our client's team. The ideal candidate will be based at our client's purpose-built facility in Malaga.

As a workshop mechanic, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining, repairing, overhauling, and commissioning of all mechanised equipment
  • Preparing equipment for load-out, inspecting, cleaning, and refurbishing for future use
  • Ensuring a safe and efficient workshop environment
  • Scheduling workshop activities to maximise efficiency
  • Prioritising and scheduling repairs and maintenance of specialised equipment
  • Implementing spare part inventory management for specialised equipment
  • Maintaining high standards of housekeeping practices in the workshop and yard
  • Developing and maintaining servicing procedures for specialised equipment
Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Mechanical Repair and Maintenance

The successful candidate will perform regular maintenance and repairs on all mechanised equipment, ensuring compliance with Global TRS work instructions.

Load-Out Preparation

The successful candidate will prepare equipment for load-out, including inspecting, cleaning, and refurbishing for future use.

Safety and Efficiency

The successful candidate will maintain a safe and efficient workshop environment, prioritising tasks to maximise productivity.

Specialised Equipment Management

The successful candidate will implement spare part inventory management for specialised equipment, ensuring timely repair and maintenance.

Highest Standards of Housekeeping

The successful candidate will maintain high standards of housekeeping practices in the workshop and yard, ensuring a clean and organised working environment.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must possess:

  • A trade qualification in mechanical or electronic engineering
  • Strong hydraulic and electronic fault-finding abilities
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge of Quality, Safety, Security, and Environment (QHSSE)
  • Demonstrated procedural knowledge and operational competency
