About the Role
We are currently seeking a reliable mechanical specialist to join our team as a full-time drill fitter. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and servicing all types of automotive/mechanical vehicles and machinery related to efficient operation of drilling equipment and associated ancillary equipment.
The Ideal Candidate
To be successful in this role, you will need to have solid experience as a heavy-duty diesel mechanic, with a strong understanding of electrical systems, welding, fitting, design, and drilling. You should also have knowledge of Sullair and Hurricane compressed air systems, and be proficient in Canbus systems diagnosis.
Key Responsibilities
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining and repairing exploration drill rigs, vehicles, MTU, CAT, and Cummins motors and equipment;
- Completing thorough and meticulous maintenance records and documentation;
- Recording and managing movement in and out of associated mechanical spare parts;
- Implementing and maintaining a regular maintenance plan to ensure efficient and reliable operation of all vehicles and machinery;
- Maintaining stock records relating to mechanical repairs and identifying stock requirements.
About the Job
This is a FIFO role, ex Perth on a 2-week on/1-week off roster. You will be working 12-hour days, based on both exploration and mine sites. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with Maintenance and Operations departments.
Essential Selection Criteria
The ideal candidate must possess:
- A Heavy Duty Mechanical Trade/Plant Mechanic Qualification (Australian recognised) or equivalent;
- A current police clearance;
- The ability to pass a McKay Drilling pre-employment medical.
Remuneration Package
The remuneration package includes $110,000 - $130,000 per annum, plus superannuation and benefits including a structured career path with progression opportunities, opportunities to work internationally, and industry-leading technology and equipment.
