Your Role

We are looking for a Risk and Chargeback Analyst to join our fast-growing team. Reporting to the Risk and Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for analyzing and preventing fraud and chargebacks, managing disputes, improving detection systems, and ensuring compliance with payment industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor high-risk transactions and investigate potential fraud cases.
  • Identify emerging fraud trends and implement mitigating strategies.
  • Develop and adjust fraud detection rules, processes, and systems to enhance detection rates.
  • Maintain knowledge of relevant regulations affecting the payments industry, including VISA, Mastercard, and other schemes.
  • Produce regular reporting on end-of-month metrics.
  • Develop and maintain applicable policies and procedures.
  • Review and improve workflows and processes for efficiency gains.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to mitigate fraud in their areas of responsibility.
  • Communicate with stakeholders regarding fraud-related incidents and solutions.
  • Manage chargebacks and dispute portfolios through scheme portals.
  • Engage with customers via email and phone to address Fraud and/or Chargeback matters.
  • Educate merchants on prevention strategies to reduce chargebacks and fraud.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Experience in a similar role or related field.
  • Strong understanding of the payments industry and card mechanics.
  • Effective problem-solving, analysis, and judgment skills combined with excellent communication abilities.
  • Organizational/time management skills, with experience working in fast-paced environments.
  • Ability to articulate complex analytical information effectively.
  • Card scheme experience an advantage.
  • Autonomy and ability to meet deadlines.
