Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Development: Develop comprehensive transportation infrastructure design models during the strategic planning, concept, and development phases of projects.
  • Compliance and Quality: Ensure that all planning and design principles are implemented in alignment with applicable standards and quality management procedures.
  • Peer Review and Expertise: Conduct peer reviews of civil designs to ensure accuracy and compliance with project goals, and provide expert advice and support to stakeholders throughout the planning and design processes.
  • Resource Planning and Innovation: Contribute to the determination of engineering requirements, critical components, and resource allocation to support project management and delivery, and apply innovative methodologies in planning and design.
  • Stakeholder Relations and Communication: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to address their needs and resolve issues that may impact project delivery, and use strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Professional Judgment and Quality Management: Use your expertise to provide guidance in design processes, particularly in areas where there is little or no precedent, and ensure that all work adheres to the required quality management standards and relevant policies, standards, guidelines, and legislation.


Requirements and Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a three-year, Sydney Accord accredited engineering degree such as a Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Civil) or recognized equivalent.
  • Demonstrated experience in civil design for transportation infrastructure projects.
  • Proven ability to apply innovative design methodologies and deliver high-quality outcomes.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience in peer reviewing civil designs and providing expert advice in the planning and design stages of projects.

Grade: PO5 - Level 1 to 4, depending on skills, knowledge, and experience.
