Job Title: Senior Civil Design Lead

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Civil Design Lead to join our team at Civil Services Group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical advice and direction on the planning and design of transport infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the delivery of planning and design projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Provide high-level advice and support to professionals and technical staff on the planning and design process.
  • Assist in the selection of the most suitable design process for project delivery and manage project development to ensure compliance and successful delivery.
  • Undertake reviews of designs to ensure compliance with contractual requirements, project brief, technical standards, and legislation.
  • Coordinate reviews undertaken by specialist designers and facilitate mutually agreeable outcomes to design issues.
  • Apply practical techniques of analysis and technical principles to identify possible problem areas and negotiate modifications or adaptations to the design briefs.
  • Exercise creativity and initiative in investigating, analysing, and conceptualising possible design options to meet project objectives.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, including specialist groups, consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years' post-graduate experience in the planning and civil design of transport and road infrastructure projects.
  • Extensive experience in interpreting and applying policies, legislation, technical guidelines, practices, and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of computer-based CAD systems, particularly 12D and AutoCAD.
  • Civil Engineering Degree or equivalent qualification from a recognised tertiary institution.
  • Registration as a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) - applicable to Civil Engineering qualified applicants only.
