Job Overview

The role of Security Specialist plays a critical part in supporting daily credit operations, legal recoveries, and risk management initiatives. It involves managing legal and insolvency matters, maintaining PPS registrations, reviewing credit applications, and supporting system administration. The specialist will review current operational procedures and develop enhanced system tools, including reporting, to manage risk and exposures across the company.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct ongoing compliance reviews and enhancements of PPS registrations.
  • Monitor and respond to up to 25 inquiries daily via the PPS Support inbox and internal/external calls.
  • Provide expert support to all teams on credit and risk-related matters.
  • Review and evaluate offshore Collections Team Weekly Bulk Legal Referral files; approve/reject accounts, document rationale, and prepare approved accounts for debt recovery.
  • Prepare and present the Monthly Legal Report to the manager, categorizing debts and making recommendations for bad debt write-offs.
  • Coordinate major Credit and Risk projects and pursue automation and cost-reduction opportunities.
  • Create SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and deliver training for key responsibilities to ensure coverage and continuity.
  • Provide detailed analysis on potential new customers and suppliers.
  • Support treasury with periodic reviews of PPS registrations.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5+ years experience in credit management or related field.
  • Advanced organisational and communication skills.
  • Proven experience in credit, legal recoveries, or risk management roles.
  • Strong knowledge of PPSA Personal Property Security Act, insolvency, and debt recovery processes.
  • Experience with BI reporting tools, PPS, CreditorWatch, and Equifax systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Experience in documentation, SOP development, and cross-functional training.
  • Tertiary qualification in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related discipline (preferred).
  • Membership with a credit industry association is advantageous.
