Job Title: Grounds Maintenance Leader

We seek an experienced Grounds Maintenance Leader to oversee turf surface preparation and maintenance for sports events and activities.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines. They will ensure the provision of high-quality surfaces for various sports events and activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and prepare turf surfaces for sports events and activities.
  • Lead and guide a team of grounds personnel to promote a culture of excellence and teamwork.
  • Collaborate with other teams and departments to achieve common goals and objectives.
  • Develop and implement effective strategies for turf surface management, including pest and disease control, fertilization, and irrigation.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations, including chemical application accreditation.

Requirements:

  • Certificate III in Horticulture (Turf), Sports Turf Management, or a related area.
  • Current class C driver's licence.
  • Experience and knowledge of high-standard sporting field preparation and other areas, including common reserves and landscaping.
  • Chemical Application Accreditation AQF3 or equivalent.
  • Desirable: Experience in sand profile sports fields, turf wickets, softball, and baseball diamonds; senior first aid certificate; flexible working hours; and ability to work within a team environment.
