Job Title: Safety Assurance Specialist
DescriptionThis is a critical role within our organisation, responsible for ensuring the safe delivery of major infrastructure projects. As a key member of our Health and Safety Technical team, you will play a vital role in developing and implementing tailored rail safety standards for our expanding network.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide expert technical advice on rail safety matters
- Drive continuous improvement of safety management systems
- Govern compliance with rail safety requirements
You will lead a proactive safety culture that prioritises workforce and community wellbeing, and implement strategic initiatives to proactively manage and mitigate rail safety risks. In this role, you will embed systems that ensure compliance with rail safety legislation and standards, and collaborate with stakeholders and authorities to achieve strategic objectives.
RequirementsTo succeed in this role, you will have:
- A proven ability to navigate complex safety challenges in major infrastructure projects
- An ability to build confidence and influence stakeholders at all levels
- A strong commitment to safety and the ability to foster a proactive safety culture
- Extensive expertise in rail safety legislation, standards, and best practices
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
Tertiary Health and Safety or engineering qualifications are highly regarded, however extensive experience in the rail industry or related rail infrastructure construction, ideally within NSW, can be considered as equivalent.
