We work closely with our process partners to ensure their access to premium markets and maintain high-quality standards for their products. Our team is spread across Australia, inspecting meat facilities in beef, lamb, sheep, game, and pork processing establishments.
A strong growth phase has led to an increase in Trainee Meat Inspector positions across regional Australia, including Victoria, Queensland, and New South Wales. We will provide comprehensive training and support during your career development.
About the role:
- Conduct thorough inspections of animal carcasses, meat, and meat products to verify compliance with government regulations and industry standards.
- Ensure that all relevant meat inspection requirements are met, guaranteeing the highest level of quality and safety.
- Complete a Certificate 4 in Meat Safety Inspection course successfully.
- Collaborate with our Process Partners to deliver exceptional products consistently.
About you:
- You must possess a genuine eagerness to learn and grow with our organization.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a cohesive team, adhering to reporting protocols.
- Good physical fitness and willingness to undergo a pre-employment medical check-up.
- Strong mental focus and stamina to manage tasks efficiently.
- National police clearance is mandatory due to the nature of this government-authorized position.
- Q Fever vaccination is required; if you haven't been previously vaccinated, please be prepared to participate in the vaccination program.
Previous experience in fields such as science disciplines, veterinary medicine, or related areas may be advantageous but is not a requirement:
- Background knowledge in knife skills, sharpening, boning, slicing, or similar activities
- Experience in meat processing, butchery, or small goods manufacturing
Working details:
- Salary: $56,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
- Employee mentoring program available
Schedule:
- 10 hour shift
- Monday to Friday, with opportunities for overtime
- Relocation to Cranbourne, VIC, is preferred
Requirements:
- Previous experience in the meat industry or agriculture (1 year minimum)
- Valid work authorization in Australia
- Availability for in-person work
