Job Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Urban Designer to join our team.

This is a unique chance to utilize your expertise in urban design and strategic planning to deliver high-quality projects and services.

About The Role

This position will involve undertaking and informing urban design and strategic planning projects as programmed through the Council's Delivery Program and Operational Plan.

You will provide senior advice and direction on complex urban design and strategic planning matters to the Council, Council Officers, and external customers.

Presenting projects to Councillors, working parties, and community groups may require after-hours work.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and contribute to the development of urban design and strategic planning projects.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to inform project delivery and outcomes.
  • Promote the Council's interests and values through effective communication and presentation skills.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:

  • A tertiary qualification in Urban Design or Town Planning or a related field.
  • Thorough knowledge and experience with NSW planning legislation.
  • Extensive skills and experience in critically reviewing urban design and built form outcomes.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Research and problem-solving skills, providing clear concise recommendations for action within tight timeframes.
  • Highly developed skills in project development and project management.
  • Time-management skills, with a particular ability to balance priorities.
  • Proficiency in 3D modelling software and PC office software such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent graphic and presentation skills.
  • Current class C driver's license.
