About the Role:

  • This position is part of a team responsible for coordinating asset accounting. The successful candidate will report to the Manager Financial Accounting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating asset accounting for Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service
  • Providing timely and quality information, expert financial compliance and accounting advice
  • Reviewing and planning in relation to CQ Health fixed assets
  • Developing and delivering strategic asset management plans
  • Short- and long-term capital budget planning
  • Comprehensive evaluations
  • Coordinating monthly and annual asset processes and reporting
  • Ensuring policies and procedures are up to date
  • Adhering to policy and financial delegations
  • Recognizing asset versus expense
  • Preparing fixed asset movement schedule
  • Reviewing stock movements
  • Reporting write-offs and obsolete stock
Requirements:
  • A degree in accounting or equivalent is highly desirable
  • A Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) / Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification is highly recommended
  • Whilst this position has a preferred location of Rockhampton, remote working arrangements may be negotiated for a suitable experienced candidate
