About Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service:
The finance department is responsible for managing the financial operations of the hospital, including budgeting, accounting, and ensuring efficient allocation of resources. It oversees billing processes and supports strategic financial planning to maintain accurate financial records and facilitate effective financial decision-making.
- This role coordinates asset accounting for the hospital.
- The Financial Accountant will support the organization by providing timely and quality information, expert financial compliance, and accounting advice in relation to fixed assets.
- The role will develop and deliver strategic asset management plans, short- and long-term capital budget planning, and comprehensive evaluations.
- Coordinate asset accounting and ensure policies and procedures are up-to-date.
- Ensure adherence to policy and financial delegations.
- Recognize assets versus expense and prepare fixed asset movement schedules.
- Review stock movements and report write-offs and obsolete stock.
- A degree in accounting or equivalent is highly desirable.
- A Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) / Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification is highly regarded.
- Experience with remote working arrangements may be negotiated for a suitable candidate.
