The Opportunity

We are seeking a Corporate Tax Lawyer at the Solicitor or Senior Associate level to join our award-winning corporate team in Sydney. This is an exciting opportunity to work with our leading Tax Partners and lawyers across our national Tax practice.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Advising clients on tax implications of transactions and investments across our corporate, funds, energy, and resources clients and HSF groups;
  • Negotiating with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) when required;
  • Providing expert advice on a range of corporate tax law, including corporate reorganisations, trusts, initial public offerings, secondary offerings, spin-offs, joint ventures, employee share schemes, and executive remuneration;
  • Working closely with your tax colleagues in Australia and internationally to deliver high-quality work products;
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients to foster business growth and deliver exceptional client experiences.

Requirements

  • An unrestricted Australian or New Zealand practicing certificate;
  • 3+ years' experience across a range of corporate tax matters in a top-tier or mid-tier private practice, top-tier accounting firm, or large corporate;
  • An excellent academic record, ideally including a Masters in Taxation;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to deliver high-quality work products under tight deadlines;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues;
  • A commitment to ongoing learning and professional development, with a desire to stay up-to-date with the latest tax laws and regulations.
