About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Underwriter/Underwriter to join our Motor Underwriting Team in Sydney. As a Motor Underwriter, you will be responsible for a Commercial Motor Fleet portfolio, with additional exposure to managing a Delegated Underwriting Authority Portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
  • Underwrite existing policies and new business in accordance with organisational policy and underwriting standards
  • Plan and implement a strategy to attract and retain high value customers and to improve poor performing policies
  • Communication with direct and general brokered policyholders regarding renewals and credit limits
  • Monitor client and market requirements and client feedback by conducting client calls / visits
  • Ensure all documentation is accurate and complies with organisation guidelines
  • Provide efficient and timely service & problem-solving solutions to brokers and clients
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with all customers, intermediaries, and internal stakeholders
  • Maintenance of accurate and up-to-date records
About You

To be successful in this Underwriting role, you will have:

  • Solid working knowledge of Motor products from an Underwriting or Claims perspective
  • Motor Underwriting experience preferred
  • Broad insurance industry knowledge and experience is essential
  • Understanding of relevant Insurance market conditions
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to analyse data and use for decision making
