The Business Development and Innovation Lead will be responsible for establishing and maintaining robust commercial relationships, driving business partner engagement, and ensuring seamless service delivery across our Micro Enterprises.

This leader will oversee the strategic development of our work program, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Collaborating with Co Working Space Managers to optimize work volumes for each Micro Enterprise Team.
  • Conducting lead generation, engagement, and onboarding of suitable business partners to ensure sufficient active commercial agreements.
  • Maintaining strong relationships with micro-enterprise partnerships, ensuring alignment with Avenue's mission and values.
  • Developing a strategy for engaging long-term partners who can support the scale, diversity, and value of our work program.
  • Working closely with the Finance team to reconcile participant remuneration totals and micro-enterprise team expenditure.
  • Day-to-day partner relationship management alongside Team Coordinators and Co Working Space Managers.
  • Internal Micro Enterprise process and administration support.
  • Administration and Reporting to established partners.

What We're Looking For:

  • Relevant qualification and/or 1+ years previous experience in a similar role.
  • Experience with negotiating Service Agreements.
  • Project management and stakeholder engagement experience desired.
  • A strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to work and communicate effectively with partners, new business leads, staff, and management.
  • Strong skills and experience using cloud-based applications, e.g., Google Suite.
  • Able to assertively negotiate mutually beneficial relationships.
  • Ability to develop and effectively document process and procedures.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles.
  • Possess or be willing to obtain an NDIS Worker Screening Check and a Working with Children Check.
  • Possess or be willing to obtain Provide First Aid/CPR (HLTAID003).
  • Hold a NSW Drivers Licence.
  • Able to travel to Avenue Hubs in Sydney and Newcastle.
  • Willingness to work at events on weekends and evenings on occasion.
