Job Title:

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead our waste management team in The Hills Shire.

About the Role:

The Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing the collection of waste and cleaning public spaces and facilities in the area. Key responsibilities include allocating resources, completing planned and reactive tasks, assisting with contractor coordination, and leadership of the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of staff to collect waste from public spaces and facilities, including cleansing of these areas.
  • Complete planned and reactive tasks, including the collection of waste, dumped rubbish, deceased animals, and cleaning of council infrastructure assets.
  • Assist with the coordination and supervision of contractors.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to team members, including completion and/or approval of required documents, timesheets/leave requests, WHS checklists, and customer and works requests.
  • Operate plant and equipment, including daily maintenance checks and reporting of issues.
  • Ensure compliance with National Heavy Vehicle Law and Chain of Responsibility requirements.
  • Maintain work vehicles and equipment in a clean and hygienic condition.

Requirements:

  • A positive and engaged person with a minimum of three (3) years' experience in a similar role.
  • Holds a valid Driver's Licence (Class MR or HR) - NSW.
  • Holds a White Card - General Construction Induction.
  • If you hold a current First Aid & CPR Certificate, this will be looked upon favourably.
