We are seeking an experienced Care Specialist to join our team at Churches of Christ, Children, Youth and Families in Hervey Bay. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality advice and support to children, young people, foster and kinship carers, families, and staff.
The ideal candidate will have a qualification in social work, psychology, or a related field, with over 5 years of relevant experience. You will have comprehensive knowledge of child protection frameworks, including the Child Protection Act 1999, and sound understanding of child development and trauma theory. Additionally, you will have proven ability to complete care assessments, awareness of contemporary challenges for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and current driver's license.

The Care Specialist is responsible for:
- Delivering high-quality advice and complex support to children, young people, foster and kinship carers, families, and staff.
- Planning, developing, facilitating, and evaluating educational/therapeutic programs to ensure compliance with legislation and frameworks.
- Facilitating intake processes, assessing and supporting individual needs, and referring to targeted services for ongoing support.
- Creatively planning, implementing, and monitoring educational and therapeutic activities designed to promote positive behaviors, skills, and emotional growth.
- Maintaining detailed client records, coordinating case management, and engaging with stakeholders and the community to build professional relationships.
- Providing in-home and flexible support services, including after-hours and on-call support, as required.

Estimated Salary$80,000 - $100,000 per annum (dependent on qualifications and experience)
