Northpark Private Hospital has grown to become one of the largest private hospitals in Melbourne’s North, offering a wide range of surgical, maternity and mental health care for its patients.
The hospital has completed an exciting new Expansion Project to meet the growing demand for quality healthcare across Melbourne’s Northwest.
The project included:
- Expansion of established Mental Health inpatient units by 22 beds, including a 10-bed Older Persons Unit
- Growth of support areas including group spaces, meeting rooms, interview spaces and patient exercise room
Northpark provides mental health services including inpatient and outpatient programs tailored to meet the needs of people with a range of mental health conditions.
The OpportunityThis role will lead and deliver exceptional, best practice mental health services to ensure excellent clinical outcomes and an industry-leading patient experience.
The Mental Health Therapy Team Leader will take a leadership role in coordinating and providing MH services, and provide supervision, direction and guidance to junior members of the MH team.
We are seeking a Grade 3 Team Leader (Occupational Therapist, Social Worker, Psychologist or Mental Health Nurse) to lead a team of multidisciplinary clinicians and deliver individual and group-based therapeutic interventions across inpatient and outpatient settings.
The role reports directly to the Allied Health Manager.
Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership Roles:
- Provide management and supervision to a team of multidisciplinary clinicians
- Provide clear direction and effective communication to team members
- Lead and promote continuous quality improvement by identifying and addressing barriers to effective care
Supporting Professional Development:
- Facilitate training, professional development and supervision for clinical team members, as required
- Facilitate evidence-based group and individual intervention within inpatient and outpatient settings
Patient Care:
- Deliver therapeutic services to patients with a broad range of psychopathology, including psychoeducation and skills-based sessions
- Assess and manage risk, and develop safety plans
Collaboration:
- Work collaboratively with psychiatrists and other allied health/nursing clinicians and leaders
- Attend and contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings
To be considered for this role, you should possess:
- Appropriate recognised qualifications in Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Social Work or Mental Health Nursing
- Registration with AHPRA or relevant professional bodies
- 10+ years of clinical experience with significant experience in the mental health sector
- Excellent communication, organisation and leadership skills
You will have extensive experience delivering a wide range of therapeutic modalities, including group facilitation. You will also possess a high level of computer literacy and organisational skills.
As a successful candidate, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant experience against the relevant Healthscope Enterprise Agreement.
You will also have access to up to $2,000 in professional development allowance and up to 2 days professional development leave.
