As Victoria's environmental regulator, we set and enforce environmental standards to help ensure all Victorians can enjoy clean air, healthy waterways and pollutant-free land.

To achieve the best possible environmental outcomes for Victoria, we're increasingly shifting our focus from minimising the effects of environmental harm, to preventing it from happening in the first place.

We are looking for a seasoned health and safety professional who will lead EPA's health and wellbeing strategy and projects. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of hands-on experience leading a health and safety function, preferably within a regulatory or public sector environment.

The successful candidate will shape strategy and culture throughout a large organisation covering a cross section of unique environments. They will be an influential leader with a true passion for enabling a holistic culture of psychological and physical wellbeing.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Leading EPA's health, safety, and wellbeing strategy and projects
  • Uplifting the core safety agenda; strengthening remit and processes to ensure a culture of holistic physical and psychological safety and wellbeing
  • Driving process improvement across health and safety policy, projects, and day-to-day safety measures

The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of leading industry safety systems and best-practice processes, as well as a demonstrated ability to influence and lead change. They will also be committed to ongoing learning and development, with a desire to build a better future for our environment.
