POSITION OVERVIEW

In collaboration with the State Lead, you will provide expert guidance and support in the execution of HSEQ systems and ensure compliance within our growing ACT team. This role will be based in our Symonston office, with responsibilities extending across various ACT projects.

The ideal candidate will possess prior experience in a HSEQ advisory capacity, potentially having transitioned from a smaller construction firm and now seeking to advance within a larger main contractor environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and execution of HSEQ documentation
  • Educate and guide site personnel on legislative requirements and updates to align with company protocols
  • Manage incident and hazard reporting processes
  • Support management in fostering a healthy, safe, and environmentally conscious workplace culture
  • Conduct HSEQ site inspections and audits
  • Guide site teams in the effective execution of pre-start and toolbox meetings
  • Coordinate HSEQ training initiatives, ensuring maintenance of competency standards
  • Analyze HSEQ performance, reporting, and system enhancements
  • Maintain the company Integrated Management System to an accredited standard
  • Compile project-specific HSEQ documentation to support tender submissions as necessary

CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • At least 2 years of experience in a HSEQ advisory role
  • Construction experience is essential, preferably within the commercial sector
  • Exposure to Defence sites is advantageous but not mandatory
  • Willingness to travel to regional areas as needed, including occasional overnight stays
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and personal vehicle (car allowance provided)
  • Experience in creating and reviewing Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) and Job Hazard Analyses (JHA)
  • Understanding of Quality Management processes
