About the Role

We are seeking an experienced HSEQ Professional to join our team at Duratec Australia. As an HSEQ Advisor, you will play a critical role in leading the safety and compliance effort on various Defence projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead HSEQ System Implementation: Assist in the preparation and implementation of HSEQ documentation, ensuring compliance with company procedures and legislative requirements.
  • Coach and Advise Site Personnel: Educate and coach site personnel on legislative requirements, changes to company procedures, and incident and hazard reporting processes.
  • Administer Incident and Hazard Reporting: Administer incident and hazard reporting processes, including actions and follow-up.
  • Encourage a Healthy and Safe Culture: Assist management in promoting a healthy, safe, and environmentally responsible working culture.
  • Conduct HSEQ Site Inspections and Audits: Conduct regular HSEQ site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with company procedures and legislative requirements.
  • Coordinate HSEQ Training Programs: Coordinate HSEQ training programs, including the maintenance of competency standards.
  • Analyse HSEQ Performance: Analyse HSEQ performance, reporting, and system updates to identify areas for improvement.
  • Maintain Company IMS: Maintain the company's Integrated Management System (IMS) to an accredited level.
  • Compile Project-Specific HSEQ Documentation: Compile project-specific HSEQ documentation to support tender bids as required.
About You
  • Minimum 2 Years' Experience: Minimum of 2 years' experience in a HSE Advisor role, preferably in the commercial sector.
  • Construction Experience: Must have construction experience, with exposure to Defence sites ideal but not essential.
  • Flexibility and Travel: Flexibility to travel to regional areas, with overnight stays on a monthly basis, and a current and valid driver's licence.
  • SWMS and JHA Experience: Experience in creating and reviewing Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) and Job Hazard Analyses (JHA's).
  • Quality Management: Understanding of Quality Management processes.
