Freelance Broadcast Studio Operator, APAC

Overview

Our media division encompasses a wide range of platforms, including television, digital, radio, and live events, and is dedicated to expanding its reach through innovative programming and initiatives.

We are seeking a skilled and versatile Technical Studio Operator to contribute to our Sydney studio operations on a freelance basis. This role involves engaging in various operational tasks related to both live and pre-recorded studio productions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and verify the studio setup and control room for live broadcasts.
  • Manage live studio logistics, including camera movements and set adjustments.
  • Assist talent and guests with microphone placement.
  • Facilitate the movement of talent and guests on and off the set.
  • Communicate effectively between the control room, directors, producers, and studio floor using a talkback system.
  • Ensure accurate lighting cues are executed.
  • Keep the Director and Producer updated on off-camera activities.
  • Adhere to health and safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with other Bloomberg offices to coordinate studio resources for various productions.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a live television studio or theatrical stage environment.
  • Strong visual creativity and a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to adapt swiftly and effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with senior news personnel and clients.
  • Exceptional organizational abilities.
  • Fluency in English is mandatory.
