This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in the administration of justice as a Senior Deputy Registrar.
- The role will provide a unique chance to determine probate applications, conduct examinations under various acts, manage subpoena lists, and conduct mediations.
As a Senior Deputy Registrar, you will sit in court as an acting registrar to conduct directions hearings and hear interlocutory applications when needed.
Key Responsibilities:- Apply legal knowledge and skills to make determinations on probate applications;
- Exercise statutory functions in relation to costs assessment;
- Provide procedural information to staff, litigants, and practitioners;
- Manage the return of subpoena lists;
- Conduct examinations under various acts;
- Sit in court as an acting registrar to conduct directions hearings and hear interlocutory applications;
- Make determinations on chamber applications;
- Be admitted as a legal practitioner in NSW;
- Have at least five years post-admission experience as a lawyer in NSW;
- Demonstrated highly developed legal skills and capabilities;
- Sound knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation and rules;
- Ability to interpret and apply legislation;
- Autonomy to work independently and complete high volumes of work in a short period;
- Develop your career in the administration of justice;
- Gain valuable experience in a leadership role;
- Contribute to the delivery of justice in NSW;
