Secondary Music and/or Bible Teacher (Year 7 -10)

Our school is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic teacher to join our team. We are looking for an individual who can teach music and/or bible to students in Year 7-10.

This is a full-time position, available to both experienced teachers and graduates. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to grow their teaching career in a supportive environment.

The successful candidate will demonstrate that they:

  • Plan, prepare and teach programs to achieve specific student outcomes
  • Use critical reflection to improve the knowledge, learning and skills of students
  • Use multiple sources of feedback on their classroom practice to inform their professional learning goals
  • Show a willingness to work collaboratively with colleagues to improve teaching and learning within the school and the wider Seventh-day Adventist school system
  • Can support and actively promote, and not undermine, the Christian-based values and ethos of the College based on the mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church
  • Have the capacity to teach the Australian curriculum in the context of the college's Christian-based ethos
  • Be able to plan for and lead daily Christian-based class devotions to students

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and motivate students
  • Dedication to evidence-based teaching practices and ongoing professional development
  • Time management and organisational abilities
  • Current VIT registration and relevant teaching qualifications
  • Reference checks will be undertaken as part of our screening requirement, including referencing your ability to work safely with children.

This position is subject to maintaining registration with VIT.
