Seventh-day Adventist Schools (Victoria) Ltd is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Secondary Music and/or Bible Teacher to join the Secondary team at Mernda Hills Christian College. While the focus is on Music and/or Bible, we are also open to teachers with expertise in other subject areas. This Full-Time teaching position is open to both experienced teachers and graduates, providing a fantastic opportunity to begin or grow your teaching career in a supportive environment. This role commences in Term 1, 2026.

The successful candidate will demonstrate that they:

  • Plan, prepare and teach programs to achieve specific student outcomes
  • Use critical reflection to improve the knowledge, learning and skills of students
  • Use multiple sources of feedback on their classroom practice to inform their professional learning goals
  • Show a willingness to work collaboratively with colleagues to improve teaching and learning within the school and the wider Seventh-day Adventist school system
  • Can support and actively promote, and not undermine, the Christian-based values and ethos of the College based on the mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church
  • Have the capacity to teach the Australian curriculum in the context of the college's Christian-based ethos
  • Be able to plan for and lead daily Christian-based class devotions to students

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and motivate students
  • Dedication to evidence-based teaching practices and ongoing professional development
  • Time management and organisational abilities
  • Current VIT registration and relevant teaching qualifications
  • As part of our screening requirement, reference checks will be undertaken including referencing your ability to work safely with children.
  • These positions are subject to maintaining registration with VIT

The salary range is $83-124k based on years of experience.
