Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Safety Engineer to join our team in Australia. As a Nuclear Safety Engineer, you will be responsible for providing expert advice and guidance on nuclear safety matters to our clients in the defence maritime sector.
Key Responsibilities- Provide nuclear safety expertise to support the development of safety cases for naval surface ship and submarine programs.
- Conduct safety assessments and risk analyses to identify potential hazards and develop mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement safety procedures and protocols.
- Develop and maintain safety documentation, including safety reports and technical notes.
- Provide training and guidance to colleagues on nuclear safety matters.
- Bachelor of Engineering/Science Degree (or equivalent depth of training).
- A minimum of 5 years nuclear-related experience (essential).
- Have (or be eligible for) UK or Australian security clearance (essential).
- Safety and assurance knowledge and experience (Highly regarded).
- Previous Defence maritime experience (Highly regarded).
- Systems engineering knowledge and experience (desirable).
- Chartered Engineer Status (desirable).
- Excellent client management/stakeholder engagement skills (or the aptitude to learn).
- Consultancy experience (desirable, but not essential).
