Key Role: Alcohol and Drug Clinician

The position of an Alcohol and Drug Clinician is available at Employment Office Australia.

About the Role:

This is a rewarding opportunity to work with individuals and families affected by alcohol or other drug issues. The successful candidate will provide evidence-based psychological and psychosocial interventions to support recovery and strengthen relationships.

Responsibilities:
  • Conducting comprehensive client assessments and intakes using standardised tools.
  • Developing and delivering tailored treatment plans based on individual needs and readiness for change.
  • Providing evidence-based psychological and psychosocial interventions, including motivational interviewing, CBT, and brief interventions.
  • Facilitating family and group therapy sessions to support recovery and strengthen relationships.
  • Collaborating with community, public-sector, and health service providers to coordinate client care.
Requirements:
  • You should have qualifications in the health, social or behavioural science field and/or extensive AOD training with a minimum Diploma in Alcohol & Drugs.
  • Experience working with individuals and families affected by alcohol or other drug issues, experience working with clients with dual diagnosis or complex needs, understanding of harm minimisation principles and evidence-based interventions, strong knowledge of community resources, treatment services, and referral networks are required.
