About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and culturally sensitive Indigenous Engagement Specialist to join our team at the University of Melbourne. As a key member of our Indigenous Cultural Education Program, you will play a vital role in planning and delivering communication and engagement activities that promote cultural understanding and respect.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement culturally appropriate engagement strategies to build strong relationships with Indigenous stakeholders and communities.
  • Design and distribute written program communications to participants and stakeholders through various channels.
  • Prepare digital communications, including website content, to promote the program and its activities.
About You

We are looking for someone with excellent organizational and time management skills, who can work effectively under pressure and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines. You will have strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills, with the ability to relate effectively with a diverse range of people. Your ability to work collaboratively and flexibly in a team environment will be essential to the success of this role.

Requirements
  • A tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Well-developed knowledge and understanding of Indigenous societies, cultures, and issues affecting Indigenous Australians.
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing communication and engagement processes in a large or complex environment.
