Job Opportunity

This is a senior academic position that involves working closely with the national lead of a curriculum domain to develop, coordinate, and deliver medical education and assessments across multiple locations.

The role is based in Fremantle and reports to the national lead in Sydney. It requires strong leadership, organizational, and project management skills as well as experience in curriculum design, delivery, and assessment in medical education.

  1. Main Responsibilities:
  2. Support the national lead in curriculum development, coordination, and implementation.
  3. Lead the implementation of the curriculum domain in the Fremantle MD program, including managing academic staff and training clinical educators and tutors.
  4. Collaborate with other domain leads and assessment teams to ensure learning objectives are appropriately assessed and integrated.
  5. Develop and mark examinations, write assessment questions, and develop clinical examination stations.
  6. Coordinate and manage clinical exams (OSCEs) in Fremantle across the MD program.
  7. Provide administrative leadership to the curriculum domain team in Fremantle.
  8. Carry out teaching duties as per university policy.
  9. Participate in relevant committees and groups as needed.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  1. A medical degree registrable with AHPRA and a Fellowship in Medicine, Health, or Medical Education, or a PhD, or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline for over 5 years.
  2. Experience in curriculum design, delivery, and assessment in medical education, preferably in a tertiary health setting.
  3. Strong leadership, organizational, and project management skills; experience with clinical and OSCE examinations is desirable.
  4. Experience in evidence-based clinical skills teaching at Masters level or higher.
  5. Excellent teamwork, communication, and negotiation skills for effective interaction with diverse staff.
  6. Proficiency with relevant technology and teaching programs.
