Health, Safety, and Environment Manager

As our HSE Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our construction sites are safe, efficient, and compliant with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and Maintain HSE Systems: Develop, implement, and maintain our Health, Safety, and Environment management system, ensuring it aligns with company policies, legislative requirements, and industry standards.
- Conduct Inspections and Audits: Regularly inspect and audit our construction sites to identify potential hazards, ensure compliance with HSE regulations, and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Develop and Deliver Training: Create and deliver HSE training programs for employees, subcontractors, and stakeholders, promoting a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.
- Investigate Incidents and Near Misses: Conduct thorough investigations into incidents and near misses, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
- Collaborate with Project Teams: Work closely with project teams to integrate HSE requirements into project plans, risk assessments, and method statements, ensuring seamless project execution.
- Monitor and Report HSE Performance: Track and report HSE performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and contributing to the development of emergency response plans.
Requirements
- Commercial Construction Experience: Proven experience in commercial construction, with a demonstrated understanding of HSE principles and practices.
- Relevant Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field, such as a Certificate IV in OHS or WHS.
- Sound Knowledge of Legislation: Strong knowledge of relevant HSE legislation, codes of practice, and industry standards, with the ability to apply them in a practical context.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with employees, subcontractors, and stakeholders at all levels.
