Job Description

The Rural Locum Assistance Program plays a pivotal role in bolstering rural workforce capacity by delivering essential healthcare services to rural and remote regions.

  • Delivering safe, effective, and patient-centred nursing care within your scope of practice.
  • Collaborating with the broader healthcare team to implement comprehensive nursing care plans.
  • Monitoring patient condition and reporting changes to the Registered Nurse or medical staff.
  • Maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation to ensure seamless care continuity.
  • SUPPORTING PATIENT EDUCATION AND ENGAGEMENT IN CARE PLANNING THROUGH EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION STRATEGIES.
  • Promoting and maintaining a safe, respectful, and culturally sensitive environment that fosters trust and collaboration.

Essential criteria include:

  • Current registration with AHPRA as an Enrolled Nurse.
  • A minimum of three years' full-time equivalent clinical experience as an Enrolled Nurse.
  • Evidence of a minimum of 250 hours of relevant clinical experience within the past year.
  • Current CPR or Basic Life Support certification, including a practical assessment component.
  • Ability to remain calm and operate effectively in unstructured environments.
