We are seeking a highly skilled Research Fellow to join our team at the Griffith University Institute for Biomedicine and Glycomics. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting cutting-edge research in parasite biology and contributing to the development of new antiparasitic compounds.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct laboratory research and experiments to assess the biological activity of new antiparasitic compounds and combinations.
- Perform state-of-the-art mode of action and pre-clinical studies with lead drug candidates.
- Mentor and supervise more junior staff and students.
- Contribute to the development of research proposals and seek competitive funding.
- Prepare and formulate publications, presentations, and research reports.
- Assist in the mentoring and supervision of higher degree research candidates.
- Supervise Research Assistants and technical staff.
- Contribute to teaching activities.
- PhD degree with at least three years post-doctoral experience.
- Expertise in a broad range of lab techniques, data analysis, and report drafting.
- Strong scientific understanding of parasite biology and extensive tissue culture experience.
- Molecular biology expertise.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, leadership, and adaptability skills.
- Strong attention to detail and high-level organisation skills.
- Proficient time management skills, and ability to work independently and collaboratively in a research environment.
- Fixed term (two year), full time position.
