Research Scientist

Griffith University is seeking a highly skilled Research Fellow to join the Parasite Biology Research Group within the Institute for Biomedicine and Glycomics.
The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing the biological activity of new antiparasitic compounds and combinations, conducting state-of-the-art mode of action and pre-clinical studies with lead drug candidates, and mentoring and supervising more junior staff and students.
The ideal candidate will hold a PhD and have at least three years post-doctoral experience, with expertise in a broad range of lab techniques, data analysis, and report drafting, as well as a strong scientific understanding of parasite biology and extensive tissue culture experience.
The Research Fellow will be part of a dynamic team and will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of new treatments for parasitic diseases.
The successful candidate will be employed on a full-time basis for a fixed term of two years, with a salary range of $$ to $$ per annum, plus 17% superannuation.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct laboratory work and research that contributes to the objectives of the Parasite Biology Research Group.
- Maintain a good publication record in high-impact, international, esteemed peer-reviewed journals.
- Seek competitive funding for research.
- Manage the preparation and formulation of publications, presentations, and research reports arising from research.
- Assist in the mentoring and supervision of higher degree research candidates.
- Supervise Research Assistants and technical staff.
- Contribute to teaching activities.
The successful candidate will have a PhD degree with at least three years post-doctoral experience, as well as expertise in a broad range of lab techniques, data analysis, and report drafting, and a strong scientific understanding of parasite biology and extensive tissue culture experience.
The ideal candidate will also have excellent communication, teamwork, leadership, and adaptability skills, as well as a strong attention to detail and high-level organization skills.
