About the Role

Cradle Coast Authority is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Biodiversity Program Manager to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for overseeing project teams and facilitating the development and delivery of a portfolio of biodiversity projects that aim to reduce threats and support the recovery of threatened species and ecological communities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement new biodiversity program proposals and projects through effective stakeholder engagement and partnership development;
  • Manage biodiversity program projects to a high standard, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery;
  • Facilitate the adoption of conservation action by providing key stakeholders with appropriate skills, knowledge, and support through coordinated activities;
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify and prioritize biodiversity conservation opportunities;
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including private landholders, public land managers, community groups, and industry partners;
  • Monitor and report on project progress, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed;
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research, policies, and best practices in biodiversity conservation, applying this knowledge to inform project development and delivery.

Requirements

  • Postgraduate degree in a relevant field, such as environmental science, conservation biology, or ecology;
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in biodiversity conservation, project management, or a related field;
  • Proven track record of developing and delivering successful biodiversity projects, with a focus on threatened species and ecological communities;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders and build strong relationships;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and develop effective solutions;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to work;
  • Highly organized and able to prioritize tasks effectively, with a focus on meeting deadlines and delivering results.
