This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join the Deputy Secretary's team as an Executive Officer. The role involves providing high-quality strategic policy advice and support to the Deputy Secretary, Senior Executives in the Group, and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working closely with the Executive Support Officer and Executive Assistant to lead the delivery of a suite of support to the Deputy Secretary, including providing advice and support to the executive support team, anticipating and managing changing circumstances and priorities within the Group, sharing information and serving as a point of escalation;
  • Providing sound and considered risk-based policy and strategic advice to the Deputy Secretary;
  • Responding to and triaging urgent, complex or sensitive requests including requests from Ministers and other parliamentary and Cabinet processes;
  • Providing strategic advice to Senior Executives within the Group to inform the development and delivery of key bodies of work;
  • Working closely with divisional executive support teams and Departmental Liaison Officers to share information, delegate tasks and resolve issues;
  • Supporting the workflow through the Deputy Secretary's office and following up to ensure priorities and deadlines are met and monitor all compliance activities timeframes;
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders, including representing the Deputy Secretary at meetings as required.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and have a strong understanding of policy development and implementation. They will also be able to build strong relationships with stakeholders and provide high-quality advice and support to the Deputy Secretary and other Senior Executives.
