Job Opportunity: Plant or Heavy Diesel Mechanic

We are seeking a qualified tradesperson to join our team in Seven Hills.

  • The primary responsibility of this role is to undertake and oversee the service and maintenance requirements for mobile asphalt plant equipment and heavy vehicle fleet, with a combination of workshop and field service.

Key tasks will include:

  1. Working independently, and consulting with operational teams on prioritization of tasks
  2. Ensuring mobile asphalt equipment and heavy vehicles comply with relevant safety standards
  3. Ensuring all equipment is maintained in accordance with company requirements for operational purposes and to allow the business to meet objectives
  4. Combination of workshop and field-based tasks and available for nighttime standby as required
  5. Ensuring all relevant permits and safety paperwork is in place before commencement of tasks
  6. Supervising contractors and labour onsite
  7. Monitoring plant equipment for any defects, utilising our maintenance system
  8. Undertaking equipment assessments and reviews and developing improvement plans

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Trade qualification in Plant Mechanics or Heavy Diesel Mechanics
  • HR License (desirable)
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills and a focus on safety
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships
  • Self-motivation and the ability to work with minimal supervision
