The role will play a key part in ensuring the application of accounting standards and other financial reporting regulatory requirements. This includes researching accounting requirements, coaching teams on technical accounting issues, reviewing financial statements for compliance with disclosure and accounting requirements, identifying opportunities for and developing accounting and reporting related guidance, training and thought leadership materials for both internal and external client consumption. The successful candidate will be highly developed in written and verbal communication skills, have a high standard of integrity, confidentiality, accountability and professionalism, and possess immediate or advanced experience with the application of IFRS and/or Australian Accounting Standards.

Job Description

We are seeking an analytical person to join our Department of Professional Practice team. As an Experienced Financial Reporting Manager/Director, you will support the business and our clients in the application of accounting standards and other financial reporting regulatory requirements.

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires research, analysis and problem-solving skills. You will work closely with senior stakeholders to identify and address complex financial reporting issues.

The successful candidate will be highly motivated, self-driven and able to work independently as well as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Researching accounting requirements
  • Cooking teams on technical accounting issues
  • Reviewing financial statements for compliance with disclosure and accounting requirements
  • Identifying opportunities for and developing accounting and reporting related guidance, training and thought leadership materials for both internal and external client consumption
Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • You are CA/CPA or equivalent qualified and have the relevant tertiary qualifications
  • You have immediate/advanced experience with the application of IFRS and/or Australian Accounting Standards
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Have a high standard of integrity, confidentiality, accountability and professionalism (discretion in dealing with confidential information is essential)
