We are seeking skilled professionals to fill the role of Mechanical Operations Tradesperson at ASC, a leading Australian company.

About the Opportunity

This position involves performing mechanical fitting, machining and maintenance tasks on the Collins Class Submarines program. It requires complex problem solving and challenges that demand accurate interpretation of complex work scopes and implementation of tasks as outlined in work packs.

The ideal candidate will have a trade certificate 3 in fitting/turning/machining, strong commitment to safety, diagnostic/fault finding and problem solving skills, and ability to read and interpret technical drawings. They will also need to commit to work within WHS&E regulations, possess good computer literacy, sound communication skills, and be able to work with minimum supervision.

  • Installation, refurbishment, planned maintenance, set to work and defect rectification of the Collins Class Submarines and associated submarine systems.
  • Management and completion of work packs under the guidance of trade and boat team leaders.
  • Delivery of completed work scopes to engineering standards and safe work practices.
About the Role

In this position, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the Collins Class Submarines program. This involves working closely with other teams to identify and implement solutions to complex problems.
