Voting Election Support Worker

PERSOLKELLY, one of Australia's largest recruitment providers, is seeking temporary and permanent workers for various roles in support of the upcoming Western Australian State election.
We are looking for individuals to assist with polling duties, including Issuing Officers, Student Electoral Officers, Voter Information Officers, General Assistants, Ballot Box Guards, and Queue Controllers.
As an Issuing Officer, you will be responsible for issuing ballot papers to electors on polling day, rotating as a ballot box guard and queue controller. After 6 pm, you will become a counting officer to conduct the count.
The Student Electoral Officer role involves assisting in polling place duties performed by officers, limited hours available.
Voter Information Officers will be engaged centrally through the Electoral Ambassador program and may be assigned to polling places with high concentrations of culturally and linguistically diverse (CaLD) or indigenous electors.
General Assistants will assist with the setup of polling places on the night before polling and start at 5:30 pm on Polling Day to assist with the count and pack up.
Ballot Box Guards ensure the correct ballot box papers are put into the ballot boxes and rotate as issuing officers and queue controllers.
Queue Controllers manage the queue into the polling place and direct electors as needed, rotating as issuing officers and ballot box guards.
All roles require strong communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Applicants should have basic knowledge of the electoral process and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
We estimate the salary for these roles to be around $25-$35 per hour, depending on the level of responsibility and location.
