The Role

The Rise Up Teacher will play a key role in developing and implementing effective strategies to support student growth and development.

This will involve working closely with students to identify areas for improvement and co-designing plans to meet their needs.

The teacher will also be responsible for providing a range of learning opportunities to support small group learning, including volunteering and community projects.

In addition, the teacher will lead whole school assemblies, promote student voice through the Student Leadership Team, and support leadership development among students.

The teacher will work collaboratively with staff to create meaningful opportunities for students to develop new skills and build on existing strengths.

Responsibilities
  • Develop targets for student improvement and co-design plans to meet them
  • Provide a range of learning opportunities to support small group learning
  • Lead whole school assemblies and enhance student voice through the Student Leadership Team
  • Support student leadership growth and development
  • Collaborate with staff to provide real-world learning experiences (volunteering, endorsed programs, community projects)
  • Help students build a portfolio of evidence showcasing growth and readiness for further education or employment
  • Work with the PBS Committee to embed a consistent whole-school behaviour approach
  • Contribute to improving attendance, academic achievement and community engagement
