Procurement Officer Role Overview

Job Description

This role involves leading and managing procurement activities to support the delivery of business outcomes. The Procurement Officer will be responsible for ensuring that procurement practices are aligned with legislative requirements, agency policies and procedures, and risk management frameworks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective procurement strategies to meet business needs, leveraging knowledge of government initiatives, standing offer arrangements, and contracting requirements and frameworks.
  • Negotiate and consult with stakeholders to achieve successful contract outcomes, maintaining strong relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Provide expert advice on procurement best practices, policy interpretation, and compliance, contributing to the development of reports and briefing notes.
Requirements and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • Proven experience in procurement, contract management, or a related field, with a strong understanding of legislation, policy, and risk management frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, enabling effective collaboration and negotiation.
  • A high level of analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and develop strategic recommendations.
