Fraud and Controls Advisory Role

The role of the Fraud and Controls Advisory Officer is to provide professional support and advice in relation to complex problems. This involves undertaking fraud risk assessments and reviews, developing project and business risk plans, and coordinating strategic planning and policy development to support the department's objectives.

This position requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of providing high-quality technical advice and support, with a focus on risk management and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reporting key findings and observations to corporate committees and leadership networks.
  • Developing project and business risk plans to enhance fraud prevention and detection mechanisms.
  • Working with stakeholders to analyse risk, identify control gaps, and develop treatment plans.
  • Facilitating the identification of fraud prevention strategies within strategic project activities.
  • Undertaking fraud risk assessments and reviews to identify areas of potential exposure.
  • Identifying issues and opportunities to contribute to continuous improvement and management of fraud risk.
  • Gathering and analysing information from various sources and proposing control improvement strategies.
  • Contributing to the management of the Agency's Fraud Risk Register and Controls Library.

Risk management, stakeholder engagement, analytical thinking, attention to detail.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

Project Management, Fraud risk analysis, Microsoft suite skills (including SharePoint and Excel).
