- Economic and financial analysis that underpins policy and project decisions
We are looking for highly capable and passionate individuals with diverse backgrounds who can bring new perspectives to support our clients to address critical challenges.
What you'll doAs a full-time member of our Finance Advisory team, you will:
- Advise and assist client finance teams on accounting, budgeting, financial and management reporting.
- Enable better financial outcomes through cost modelling, pricing and charging reviews, sustainability analysis, forecasting, business case evaluation, procurement support and commercial assurance.
- Improve finance and corporate service functions by assessing and redesigning operating models, enhancing processes and controls, and supporting digitisation and automation.
- Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards, regulations, and industry trends affecting government entities, and incorporate relevant insights into client solutions.
- Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key stakeholders and government entities. Serve as a trusted advisor, providing timely and insightful financial guidance and support. Proactively engaging with clients to anticipate their evolving needs and deliver tailored, value-added solutions.
- Coach and mentor junior colleagues to help foster professional growth and capability within the team.
We are seeking candidates for multiple roles at different levels of their consulting career, from Associate through to Senior Manager. You will have the opportunity to broaden your consulting skills, advance your career, and be mentored by industry leaders, while working on diverse, high-impact projects that shape better financial and commercial outcomes for clients across Government and Defence.
Qualifications and experienceTechnically, you bring:
- Experience working with or within finance, accounting or related fields, supported by a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or a related discipline.
- Organisational leadership of high performing teams with multiple projects and competing deadlines.
- A relevant accountancy qualification (CA ANZ or CPA) is advantageous.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Experience in the Commonwealth Budget and Cabinet processes, including Budget Process Operational Rules, Cabinet Submissions, and Portfolio Budget Statements.
- Expertise in one or more of the following: cost modelling, financial accounting, or commercial and contract assurance.
