About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Geospatial Operations Lead to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for overseeing the development, coordination, and governance of geospatial systems and services.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in the use of GIS software, particularly ArcGIS Pro and geodatabase environments, including spatial data analysis and high-quality cartographic production.

You will also have demonstrated experience in supervising staff, managing workflows, and coordinating project delivery within a GIS or related technical environment.

Additionally, you will have a working knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Aboriginal Land Rights (NT) Act 1976 and the Native Title Act 1993.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the development, coordination, and governance of geospatial systems and services
  • Manage day-to-day service delivery, support field and research projects, and ensure spatial data is secure, accessible, and aligned with legal and cultural protocols
  • Guide a skilled GIS team and ensure spatial data is used with accuracy, integrity, and cultural respect
  • Contribute to land claims, leasing, cultural mapping, and environmental planning
