Clinical Psychologist Specializing in Pain Management

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform thorough psychological evaluations to gain insights into patients' pain experiences and the psychological factors influencing their overall health.
- Design and execute evidence-based treatment strategies tailored to each patient, emphasizing pain alleviation and psychological resilience.
- Administer psychological therapies, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and mindfulness techniques, to assist patients in effectively managing their pain.
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including surgeons, physicians, and therapists, to provide integrated care for patients suffering from pain-related conditions.
- Engage in research and contribute to the advancement of innovative interventions and methodologies for pain management.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on the psychological dimensions of pain management and strategies to enhance overall well-being.
- Maintain precise and current documentation of patient assessments, treatment plans, and progress in line with professional and ethical standards.
- Stay informed about the latest research, developments, and best practices in the domain of pain psychology.
Qualifications:
- Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology or Counselling Psychology from an accredited institution.
- Valid professional license or certification to practice psychology.
- Specialization or postdoctoral training in pain psychology or chronic pain management is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in conducting psychological assessments and delivering evidence-based interventions for patients with pain issues.
- Strong understanding of various psychological treatment modalities, including CBT, ACT, and mindfulness-based approaches, as they pertain to pain management.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and therapeutic relationships with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying complex ideas clearly.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with advancements in pain psychology.
