Hello. We're Virgin Australia. And we're back (in a big way).
We're the airline that's always done things a little different. Our way. The Virgin way. For us, flying is so much more than simply taking off and landing (although we understand that is quite important). It's about going the extra mile, in the air and on the ground, to create authentic experiences that put our guests firmly at the heart of everything we do.
About Virgin Australia Cargo
Virgin Australia Cargo is a dynamic part of the Virgin Australia Group, delivering reliable and flexible freight solutions across the country. We proudly serve major cargo distributors, corporate clients, and individual customers—with services ranging from general freight to the safe transportation of live animals. With access to specialist cargo terminals at all major Australian airports, we're equipped to meet a wide variety of shipping needs, ensuring every item is handled with care and precision.
What you'll be doing:
As the Cargo Customer Engagement Manager, you'll be at the heart of Virgin Australia Cargo's customer experience. You'll lead the charge in strengthening relationships with our cargo clients by driving engagement through innovative product offerings and tailored solutions. Your role will blend strategic oversight with hands-on customer management, as you guide governance and compliance efforts while nurturing a select portfolio of national accounts. This is a unique opportunity to shape how our customers connect with our brand and services, making a real impact in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
You'll be great in this role if you:
- Are a whiz with Microsoft Office and love turning data into insights through sharp reporting and analysis
- Bring a solid understanding of business fundamentals and how they connect to customer success
- Have a knack for building strong relationships and communicating with clarity and confidence
- Pride yourself on your attention to detail and your ability to stay organised and plan ahead
- Enjoy solving problems and thinking creatively to find smart solutions
- Know how to manage stakeholders and navigate complex relationships with ease
- Have experience with iCargo software or are keen to learn (bonus points if you already know it)
- Understand the ins and outs of domestic cargo operations—sales, market trends, pricing, and best practices (desirable)
- Have previous experience working with domestic cargo customers (desirable)
- Have had exposure to revenue management and understand how it supports commercial outcomes (desirable)
What you'll get from us
We're committed to looking after you, with some of the best benefits and conditions in the industry – including (but not limited to):
- Heavily discounted air travel for you and your loved ones (including $1000 worth of travel credits per year)
