Job Overview

The General Manager, Program Delivery role is a critical position responsible for establishing and managing a program of work to develop, implement, and construct facilities for safe domestic disposal of radioactive waste.

Key Objectives:

  • Develop and manage an integrated program of work for developing, implementing, and constructing facilities for the safe domestic disposal of radioactive waste.
  • Lead the delivery of the National Radioactive Waste Management Facility (NRWMF) and establish Intermediate Level Waste (ILW) disposal pathway including demonstrator projects.
  • Ensure necessary resources and management infrastructure are in place to deliver the program of works, including establishment of a Program Management Office (PMO) and commercial function.

Responsibilities

Effective collaboration and engagement with stakeholders, including project delivery partners, technical experts, and regulators, are crucial aspects of this role. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential for building and guiding a cohesive team, ensuring the successful delivery of the program.

Requirements:

  • Proven ability to lead complex, major projects in remote environments and regional Australia.
  • Sound understanding of Commonwealth Government procurement and project management processes.
  • Strong understanding of complex regulatory systems and ability to operate within them effectively.
  • Effective leadership skills, including the ability to direct diverse teams and gain trust and respect.
  • Ability to represent the organization confidently and negotiate on its behalf in sensitive environments.
