This key role focuses on delivering high-quality outcomes for medium to high-value claims and complex niche products. Your primary objective will be to ensure prompt communication and thorough investigation, analysis, and resolution of claims lodged by insureds or third parties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of liability claims according to best practice guidelines.
  • Analyze first reports to determine the nature of loss, coverage, and scope of injury/damage.
  • Conduct investigations into all aspects of reported claims, including potential fraud. Secure and verify supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Establish accurate and timely reserves.
  • Provide exceptional service standards in line with company best practices.
  • Maintain an active diary to achieve timely development and disposition of claims.
  • Promptly document all claim developments.
  • Exercise good judgment when reaching final claim disposition, evaluating nature, liability, injury, damage, coverage, and applicable limits.
  • Effectively negotiate settlements where appropriate.
  • Communicate effectively with various stakeholders, including claim departments, customer services, loss control, underwriting departments, finance departments, brokers, insureds, service providers, third parties, and legal representatives.
  • Recognize and pursue subrogation opportunities.
  • Adhere to relevant statutory rules, regulations, and internal compliance obligations.
  • Control outside vendors' use, work product, and expenses effectively.
Qualifications
  • Relevant tertiary or insurance industry qualifications.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in liability claims.
  • Broad knowledge of insurance industry processes and claims management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong workflow management skills.
  • Proven teamwork and collaboration abilities.
